AT&T announced that the LG Thrill 4G would be arriving this summer back in June without an official release date. We waited(and waited) until we finally received some confirmation from AT&T’s twitter account the other day that the device would finally be available to the masses starting Sept. 4th. Well, today happens to be September 4th, and AT&T has kept to their word: you can now purchase the LG Thrill 4G for $100 with a new two year contract or $450 with no contract commitment.
Specs wise, the LG Thrill 4G features a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D display, dual 5 megapixel camera with 1080p 3D recording, and Android 2.2. This device will run on AT&T’s HSPA+ network.
It’s quite unfortunate that this device runs on Froyo, but I am sure that it will get the upgrade to Gingerbread in no time. It was smart for AT&T to price the Thrill 4G at $100 less than that of its main competitor, the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint. If you are interested in a 3D device with 4G speeds and a reasonable price, the Thrill 4G may be the device for you.
