LG X Power, one of the new mid-range smartphones from the South Korean consumer electronics company, has now finally gone on sale in the U.K. after having been unveiled in Ukraine back in May. The unlocked, SIM-free version of the device has been listed for sale by UK-based online retailer, Unlocked Mobiles, for £199.98, with free next day delivery across the country. The device was originally said to come with a price-tag of around $200 (£150) when it was announced earlier this year along with another mid-ranger called the LG X Style. The smartphone is already on sale in North America on carriers such as Cricket Wireless in the U.S. and Wind Mobile in Canada. The handset comes with basic mid-range hardware, but its most notable characteristic is a 4,100mAh battery that should last at least a day for most users.
Taking a look at the hardware specs of the LG X Power K220, the device sports a 5.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6735 chip that comes with a 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at a maximum of 1.3GHz, along with a Mali-T720 GPU. The amount of included RAM and internal storage are also along expected lines for a device in this segment of the market, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The handset also supports micro SD cards of up to 256GB in capacity, so storing all those media files should not be too much of an issue.
As for the imaging credentials of the LG X Power, the device comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture, auto-focus and LED flash. The camera sensor has a 1.12 µm pixel size and can record 1080p videos at 30fps. The front-facing selfie shooter, meanwhile, comes with a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and is also capable of shooting 1080p videos. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot, as also Bluetooth v4.2 along with A-GPS and GLONASS. The device also supports microUSB v2.0 and USB On-The-Go (OTG), while sensors include accelerometer, magnetometer (compass) and proximity sensor. On the software front, the LG X Power comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with LG’s Optimus UX laid on top.
