Android Collage App that’s easy to use and fun to play with.
Once upon a time in the not too distant future a guy named Joe and a girl named Sally are going to get married. At this wedding a bunch of Sally and Joe’s relatives are going to take a ton of pictures of the blessed event. After a few months somebody is going to hand Joe and Sally a jump drive with all of the pictures from that day on it as a gift. Joe and Sally are going to do what any young couple would do with a boatload of new pics to share. They are going to post those suckers on Facebook! But after a few posts they start to get the feeling that there is something more they could do with those photos. They wanted a way to show them off but in a more creative fun way. Enter the Android App “Collage+”. You see Collage+ is an app that lets users upload photos into it and they can put those photos into a themed collage to show them off. Read on and I’ll tell you all about it!
User Interface and Functionality
When the app loads it shows users a set of 6 collage background photos that are themed for one of the apps 12 theme topics. In my first run of the app it started with the “Travel” theme page. By tapping on the menu icon in the top left hand corner I see that there’s also 11 other topics such as: In Love, Office, Students, Wedding, Kids, Marine, Art, Party, Christmas, Easter, and Food. Each of these topics contains a set of several collage styles based on the current theme. You can even download more themes from the app store through “in app purchase”. Once you have chosen a theme to use for the collage all you need to do is tap the plus sign at the bottom of the page to add a photo to the collage. You can add up to 5 photos to any one collage. Once you add a photo to a collage it will give you the option to add more photos or tap the arrow button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. The arrow button takes you to the next phase of collage building where you can add text, stickers, edit the collage, zoom in or zoom out. After that is added you tap the disc icon in the upper right hand corner to save your collage. That’s pretty much all there is too it. It’s a pretty simple, straightforward, no nonsense collage maker android app. Once those collages have been made Joe and Sally can share their photos in STYLE!
Overall Opinion and Rating
Overall I like Collage+ for it’s simplicity and ease of use. I also like the fact that the collage theme backgrounds look professionally done and are very nice themes. It makes it really easy to choose a theme, modify it, and share it. However the one thing I don’t like about this app is that there is no “blank” fully customizable theme. What if for some odd reason none of the themes that come with the app are a good fit for what somebody wants? What them should they do? I think a blank theme or fully customizable theme would be exactly what would set this app apart from the rest. Other than that I like the app and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to do collages with their digital photos.
