It’s probably fair to say that we’ve all been guilty of conducting an illicit experiment or two in our time, but some people can take it too far. Take the Director at your secret experiment facility for example, he’s pushed your moral flexibility to the limit with the unpleasant stuff he does to the alien prisoners, so you’ve decided enough is enough and its whistle blowing time. Now, just the small matter of getting out alive…
Tying nicely in with Android-in-space game-changer Mass Effect 3, and made by the people behind the incredible Dead Space, Infiltrator is another tremendous treat for fans of space-based shoot ’em ups. Your name is Randall Enzo, a veteran agent for Cerberus, and it’s your task to battle your way off the base, taking on a veritable army of angry ex-colleagues on the way in a bid for freedom against the odds. Armed only with an array of baddie-be-gone weapons of mass effect destruction, upgrade your armour to lengthen your longevity to at least the next level, utilise your environment to keep cover, and lock and load: this is as good as it gets!
THE BOTTOM LINE
An original story optimised for Android, Mass Effect Infiltrator is, in a word, brilliant. Graphics are superb, gameplay fast and furious with nicely intuitive swipe and tap controls, the audio track adds extra tension and the storyline is intensely immersive, making the whole experience gloriously enjoyable. Okay, controls can be a little tricky to master at first, but a helpful aim assist exists to help until you get to grips, after which it’s all-out action all the way.
A red hot slice of alien-assisting extra-planetary Android app perfection, Mass Effect Infiltrator sets the benchmark for fun you can have with your phone.
