Dell and Intel have jointly announced the Venue 8 7000 tablet sporting a thickness of just 6mm, giving it the tag of the world’s thinnest tablet. The tablet comes with the company’s popular RealSense camera on the back which provides 3D gestures and a multitude of other features. It also packs a pixel dense 8.4 inch Quad HD resolution AMOLED display and a separate 8-megapixel camera on the back for regular images.
Running inside the tablet is Intel’s quad core Moorefield CPU, which should offer excellent performance and efficiency on a handheld device such as this. Another interesting aspect is the design, which isn’t what we come to expect from a standard tablet. It only has one substantial front bezel as you can see from the image above, which is where the front facing camera and the relatively large speakers are located as well.
The RealSense camera on the back can be found concealed underneath a black band. Dell has also added a regular 8-megapixel camera right below the RealSense sensor. The Venue 8 7000 is a very unique device and one which is worthy of the world’s attention. Dell claims that the tablet will be available starting November with no word on the pricing yet.
