The Super Nintendo classic Mega Man X will be released for the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console this coming Thursday. Nintendo has the links and “buy digital” buttons all ready to go! Don’t miss this chance to buy this masterpiece classic… again.
In all seriousness, I was eagerly waiting for this game to be released. Capcom’s main goal these days is to crank out its classics on every digital platform, and the New Nintendo 3DS is uncharted territory for the publisher. Between Mega Man 7 and now Mega Man X, the Blue Bomber’s two best 16-bit games are now available to play any time, anywhere.
Hundreds of years after his death, Dr. Light’s final creation is discovered. Released from his capsule by Dr. Cain, “X” is born into the world of the future where robot rebellions are a thing of the past. But when Dr. Cain tries to implement Dr. Light’s designs into a new series of Reploids, something goes horribly wrong. Now, the future lies on the brink of destruction and X must use all of his newfound powers and abilities to hunt down the maverick Reploids and their leader, Sigma, before the human race is wiped from the planet!
Wow, what a blood boiling trailer! I must play! Before Capcom gets around to Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3 though, I would much rather see it take a break and release Demon’s Crest instead. Capcom’s most underrated Super Nintendo classic must be playable on the New Nintendo 3DS for this latest initiative to feel complete.
Of course, it’s all moot if they come to the rumored portable NX console, but whatever. The more people who play Capcom’s 16-bit classics, the happier the world will be!
