Back in 2012, Micromax launched the Canvas 2 smartphone that came with the model number A110. Now, this new Canvas 2 2017 smartphone with the model number Q4310 packs much better hardware than its predecessor. After rebranding few devices, finally, we think the Canvas 2 2017 will be the original Micromax smartphone.
The exact pricing and availability of the device aren’t known yet. It comes with a metal built body and will be available in Chrome Black and Champagne Gold color options. The 5-inch display of the Canvas 2 2017 comes with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and offers 400nits of brightness. There is also a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front to protect the device from drops and scratches. Micromax is also offering one-year display guarantee where they will be replacing the display for free but only one time in the entire warranty period.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the customized UI laid on top. Apart from the new features of the latest Android OS like split screen multitasking and bundled notifications, the company is also offering additional software features like Control Pad. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Accompanying the processor is 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The device also offers a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to additional 64GB.
There is a 13MP autofocus camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. For selfies, the Canvas 2 2017 sports a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 84.3-degree wide-angle lens. The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the right edge of the Canvas 2 2017. It measures just 8.5mm thickness and might feel a little bulky as it weighs 160 grams. With all these specs, the Canvas 2 2017 will be backed by a 3,050mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give 11 hours of talk time and lasts up to 50 hours in standby mode.
The physical home button placed beneath the display comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. This dual SIM device also offers 4G VoLTE support for using with the Jio 4G SIM.
