Microsoft is working on a new controller for the Xbox One, according to a report from Neowin.
According to a source, Microsoft is looking to launch the peripheral at E3 this year, and it’ll be aimed at the core gaming audience. The project is in the planning stages currently, meaning this might never come to fruition.
Details beyond that are all but absent, but we can make some guesses at what kinds of things might be included in such a device. Improvements to the direction pad and the bumpers seem obvious, as they were two of the biggest points of contention with gamers at the system’s launch. An integrated chat adapter would also be something that the core audience might enjoy. Sites that offer controller customization add grips and additional paddles to controllers as well, so there are some less obvious changes they could make as well.
If Microsoft is indeed working on a new controller for the Xbox One, what features would you like to see?
