iOS: When you’re looking for something new to watch, it’s easy to get lost in all of the options browsing Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, and whatever other services you have. MightyTV is a free app that lays it all out in one place and helps you pick.
You tell the app what services you have or, if they’re downloaded on your phone, the app will find them for you. From there, register using your Facebook account. Once you do, MightyTV starts recommending stuff to watch. Using a few actions, you then tell it what you like, what you don’t like, and what you want to watch later:
Swipe right to like
Swipe left to dislike
Swipe up to skip
Tap to get more info and a preview
Tap the “Watchlist” icon to add it to your list
Tap the play icon to select episodes to watch now
The app will tell you where you can watch each show—Netflix, Prime, HBO GO—and if you pick an episode, it will open the app for you so you can start watching. You can also search for shows that are trending within the app’s community or among your Facebook friends.
It’s useful to see all of the programs and movies you have access to, but I also like using it to keep track of all the stuff I want to watch. Unfortunately, there’s no Android version available yet, but TV Series is a comparable app on Google Play. Of course, it doesn’t exactly work the same way MightyTV does, but it allows you to keep track of your shows in one place.
