Sometimes, very rarely, an app come along that really impresses me with its mix of innovation and features, and I have to say, Mobizen is one such app. This really is an incredibly impressive app, with a wealth of stunning features that impress as much as they innovate.
The basic premise behind the app is that it offers you a free way of easily mirroring your Android phone or tablet screen to a PC. Setup is as easy as pie, you simply download the Android app, download the PC application and use the PC app or even the Mobizen Website to get connected. I had no problems at all getting it to work, but there is a full help section on the site if you do get stuck.
You can connect over WiFi, USB or 3G, but if you are connecting over 3G, be prepared for far more lag than using WiFi or USB, which is understandable. Once connected, there are a lot of things you can do.
Here, straight from the developer, are some of the features the app offers once connected:
You can easily take screen shots and record your mobile screen without rooting. This is the easiest way to record and share mobile gameplay.
Mobizen works as an effective presentation tool allowing you to mirror your mobile device to a large screen. Tools such as on-screen drawing can enhance the effectiveness of any presentation.
Easily receive all smartphone notifications on your PC discreetly and choose which ones you would like to respond to at the click of your mouse.
Mobizen allows you to stream music and videos to your PC with ease. Transferring files is no longer necessary as you can easily stream mobile multimedia to a large screen to share with friends and colleagues.
DRAG-AND-DROP FILE TRANSFER
Drag and Drop when you want to transfer photos and other media files to your PC from your mobile. You can also move contents from your PC to your mobile device with this easy-to-use function.
All of the above features are superb, including the excellent ability to drag and drop files to and from your phone, but there is one feature that stands above all others: screen recording. While playing a game, using an app or doing anything on your phone, you can record your actions. Now, this is something that usually requires a rooted phone and a bit of technical knowledge to achieve, but here literally anyone can record their screen.
This is great news for YouTubers that want to share their Android gaming exploits, or create video reviews of apps and games. Yes, doing this does create a bit of lag, but nothing that can’t be managed very easily by experienced gamers and YouTube users.
I must also mention the notifications that you can get from your phone to your PC; a great idea that has been slickly implemented here.
Overall, this is one of the best apps we have reviewed here for a very long time, made all the better by the fact that it is completely free. Grab it now before the developer changes their mind and starts charging the premium price it deserves.
