The week has come to a close yet again, which means it's time for another Rewind. Are you still plundering your way through Persona 5, or are you like me and sacrificed your life to it for the sake of beating it in a week, so that you were left a broken shell of a man afterwards? Regardless, if you're here that means you're looking for handheld and mobile news, or you just really enjoy my fake company, in which case, get lost loser. I kid. Mostly. News!
Now you're playing with portable power!
That there Switch done did good, hasn't it? I hear tell it sold a whole whopping 900k, fastest selling Nintendo console ya ever did see. That bit's done, I'm sorry. There was a Nintendo Direct that focused a whole lot on Arms and Splatoon 2. The latter of which looks like more of what people liked, while the former looks fun but it still not doing a great job of showcasing a full priced game for me yet. The director of Parasite Eve, who was also one of the directors of Chrono Trigger, has teased a new Switch project. He was also the director of The Bouncer, so, you know, swings and roundabouts.
There's also Vita news! WHAT?! That's right folks, brush off the dust and turn that bad boy back on. Hell, you probably won't even need to charge it, because that battery lasts for like a month if you leave it in sleep mode. Anyway, Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku is bringing samurai dungeon crawling to the Vita in June. Also, it's been confirmed that Romancing SaGa 2's Vita port is heading West, and Romancing SaGa 3 will be doing so as well when the time comes.
Now you're moving with massive mobility, I guess.
That crazy new mobile Yoko Taro game SINoALICE got a trailer, so hopefully that ridiculousness makes it West. Pokemon Go is still going strong with 65 million active users, which makes me wonder how many pokemon have been melted down into candy at this point for the sake of these sick, sick people. Galaxy of Pen & Paper is the new gig from the Knights of Pen & Paper creators, and will be out in July. In space, it's probably pretty difficult to roll dice. Doesn't sound like a great place to do this, really.
Elder Scrolls Legends just got a new Dark Brotherhood expansion. I just started playing myself yesterday, and it's not bad so far. Similar to Hearthstone, but feels closer to Magic than HS does. Oh, and the next Professor Layton game, Layton's Mystery Journey — starring the Professor's daughter and her talking dog rather than the Professor himself — will be coming West on mobile, but not 3DS. Which is why it's in this section, despite how wrong that feels.
Well, that's everything of note, I suppose. Of course, there's always more going on over at Modojo proper, such as even more lists and random news of things you may care about. Go check it out sometime, just to be safe. Or not, I'm not your dad. That you know of. By the way, for those of you who are neck deep in Persona — Makoto is best girl. Fight me.
Modojo is your homebase for mobile and portable gaming and tech news. You wanna read about the Switch or 3DS? Come on down. How about app store titles? We've got you covered. Interested in mobile VR or phones themselves? We write about 'em. Hell, if Sony were so bold as to release a Vita game, we'd cover that too. Our patron saint is Robomo, the wise-cracking robot.
