Duke Nukem 3D, the shoot ‘em up game described as “morally questionable” by reviewers upon its original release in 1996, is expected to arrive “very soon” on the Android Market.
The app, which pitches Duke against a hoard of aliens and mutated humans attempting to take over the world, is being brought to Android through a partnership between mobile applications network Tapjoy, Inc. and MachineWorks NorthWest.
Over the course of Duke Nukem 3D our ‘hero’ can use XXX sex posters for target practice and, according to a Media Watch report, “Duke throws cash at a prostituted woman telling her to ‘Shake it, Baby’ his gun ever ready.” Classy.
“Duke Nukem is a legend in his own time, and he’d be the first person to tell you that,” states Rob Carroll, Tapjoy’s Director of Publishing for Tapjoy. “MachineWorks NorthWest has done a great job of bringing the brash, trash-talking character and all his ass-kicking glory to the mobile environment, and we are thrilled to be working with AAA studios like MachineWorks to help bring games of this caliber to Android.”
Duke Nukem 3D will work on any Android smartphone or tablet device running version 2.1, you can expect us to review it in all its gory, sexist glory once it’s available for download.
