The rumors of an iPad mini have continued and in the latest batch of rumors by NetEase, it has been reported that Apple could be releasing the rumored device in Q3 of 2012. The reason for that date is so that Apple will be able to compete and provide a counter attack against the launch of the upcoming Windows 8 platforms and the tablets that are expected to launch alongside it. The report also goes on to claim that Apple will be pricing the rumored iPad mini at a somewhat competitive price range between $249 to $299, which while still more expensive than the Amazon Kindle Fire, is still a lot cheaper than the current iPad models.
6 million units are expected to be ready for its initial launch and according to the article, both Honhai Precision (Foxconn) and Pegatron have been pegged to be the ones making the device. Given their history of making Apple’s products, it’s really no surprise there. Once again with rumors surrounding Apple’s products, we suggest that you guys should probably take this with a grain of salt for now until more details have been revealed and more concrete evidence has been uncovered.
