The Moto X was officially unveiled last August, but up until now it’s only been available in the Americas. That’s about to change, though. Earlier this month Motorola announced that the Moto X would be headed to certain countries in Europe, the UK among them of course. The release date in these new territories was pegged as February 1.
However, it now looks like the Moto X will arrive in the UK earlier than that. Two days earlier, to be precise. Well known mobile device retailer Clove has announced that it’s expecting to receive the first batch of Moto X stock on January 30, which is this Thursday. Obviously the company will dispatch as many units as possible immediately after that.
So if you want to be among the first people in the UK to get a Moto X, and don’t mind going the SIM-free and unlocked route, perhaps you should pre-order one from Clove right now.
You’ll have to pay £330 for that, which is thankfully a lot less than the £380 that we thought the Moto X would cost in the UK. At this price, it’s quite a good buy, especially if you like Google’s ‘pure’ version of Android – and fast OS updates. The Moto X will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat on board, as it was one of the first handsets to receive that particular version.
