The new Defy+ one-ups the original Defy with a speedier processor (1GHz instead of 800MHz) and a larger battery (1,700 mAh). Other than that – and the new version of Android – its features have remained unchanged: HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera, 2GB of on-board memory, and MicroSD card support.
Motorola says the Defy+ will be released in “early fall” in Europe, Asia and Latin America, for an unknown price. I’m not sure why North America isn’t included here – maybe Moto wants to launch the smartphone there under a different name, or maybe it doesn’t want to sell it there at all. We’ll see.
