The long awaited Motorola DROID 4 has finally been announced. Unfortunately, a launch date has not been disclosed, meaning the rumors trying to figure out when it will launch will continue.
In any event, the announcement for the DROID 4 seem to confirm what we have already learned thanks to many leaks. The DROID 4 boasts a 5 row slider QWERTY keyboard, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, an 8MP rear facing camera, a front facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and a 4.0 inch touch screen display. One of the few disappointments about the DROID 4 is the fact that it will only launch with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), but is scheduled to receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
Lastly, it is also a 4G LTE smartphone, which means it is the best 4G LTE option on Verizon Wireless with a Slider QWERTY keyboard. Previously, the best 4G LTE Slider option was the Samsung Stratosphere, but that will change once the DROID 4 comes to market.
It’s nice to see Motorola continue the original DROID series and the device should please customers looking for a high-end Android device with 4G LTE and a QWERTY Slider keyboard.
Once the official launch date and pricing information has been announced, we will let you know.
