As we approach the end of 2015, most big name flagships have already been released and/or announced. But there’s still a few good Android devices left waiting in the wings. Take the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 for example, which will be the best handset Motorola will release this year and it’s reserved exclusively for Verizon Wireless.
Just like that, a Motorola device carrying the model number XT1585 gained its global certification. It’s the same model we’ve seen pop up months ago as a device codenamed Kinzie. Check out the global bands including CDMA for use on Verizon. Really, there’s nothing here we didn’t already know, but if nothing else, it’s more or less a hint that the phone’s launch is just around the corner.
According to our sources, we’re expecting Verizon/Motorola to finally make the phone official next Thursday, October 15th with a release on the 29th, possibly alongside its little sibling the Motorola DROID Maxx 2 (Verizon variant of the Moto X Play). It’s also been said that the Droid Turbo 2 could arrive in other markets as the Motorola Moto X Force, but exactly which countries remains to be seen.
