The Motorola DROID Turbo is the Verizon-exclusive 2014 Motorola flagship. It has an unmistakable design, impressive battery life (thanks to a 3,900 mAh cell) and a QHD display, and is one of the more powerful Motorola phones released last year. When will it be upgraded to Android Marshmallow? Find out all the latest Motorola DROID Turbo Android update news here.
Motorola has confirmed that the DROID Turbo will receive Android Marshmallow and said that it will “work fast” to upgrade its devices to Android 6.0, but that they won’t ship until Motorola knows they are ready.
A report from Neurogadget claims that Motorola has completed the Android 6.0 software update for the DROID Turbo and is waiting on approval from Verizon before it is rolled out, but provides no source for this information. If this is accurate, Verizon should start pushing the software out OTA, once approval is granted.
The DROID Turbo arrived with Android 4.4 KitKat but was upgraded to Android 5.1 Lollipop on July 1, a number of months after the Lollipop source code was released (November 2014). If the Marshmallow update arrives to the DROID Turbo before 2016 it will show a big improvement from Motorola.
