If you own a Motorola Xoom here in the United States, you might just have a small update to look forward to in the coming weeks here. Talk Android got wind that a new survey has been sent to the various soak/beta testers that have indicated a new update that will be applied to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Coming from this email they received, we can definitely confirm that a new update is on its way to Xoom users:

Whatever this new update will be and whatever it’s packed with, its beginning to look like Motorola Mobility and Google are getting everything ready to get the new updated tested and rolled out to Xoom users as soon as possible. I’m assuming that its largely going to be some bug fixes, but its also possible we could expect some new features to come with it. As to what those are, I am not entirely sure, but I am sure that even though this is a minor update, surely this has to deal with the new head of software at Motorola Mobility somehow. Otherwise, why would they have any need to release a new update for the tablet? As far as I know, it’s pretty stable and is without any notable bugs.
What I do find funny is that it was requested that this information wasn’t shared with any websites, but in fact, it was. I guess that means there’s at least one bad apple out there that lets us in on the behind the scenes news.
Hopefully this update will be bring some notable improvements to the device and isn’t a waste of some serious excitement. Is anyone looking forward to seeing what the new details are on the upcoming update for their Motorola Xoom? Are there any Xoom owners out there or have you all moved on to a more high powered device? Whatever the case is, this new update for the tablet should be rolling out fairly soon as they seem like they really are wanting to get this update out very soon.
