I sometimes hate the fact that when I play a game for the first time I can see the immediate comparisons between the new game I'm playing and an old game I've played before. The reason I say this is because I feel that it doesn't do justice to the new game. However when a game is so blatantly similar I can't help but notice. In my opinion Musica Tap for the iPhone is essentially Guitar Hero without the guitar. It could also be considered Rock Band without the instruments and the band. I don't say this to be disparaging because I consider those games wonderful games and I have to say that Musica Tap is also a wonderful game. It's fun, entertaining, and unique in it's own way.
In Musica Tap players listen to a song while they play. Just like those other games I mentioned above, they have to do certain things based on the different types of notes that show on the screen. Things like tapping, swiping, double tapping, and tap & holding. Players can choose songs from any song on their phone and use it in the game. The game loads the song, analyzes it, and places all of the notes types in certain places for users to play with. It's this ability that makes this game unique each time you play it. Each time you use a different song the game is essentially different. Plus you get to listen to songs you enjoy instead of some preloaded music the developer thought was cool. The game looks great and plays great too! I had a lot of fun using this app and I think everyone who likes music will too.
