One of the finest racing experiences to date available for Android devices, and more specifically NVIDIA SHIELD, is Real Racing 3 from Electronic Arts. However, what was already a comprehensive racing package has shifted up another gear with the release of a major new NASCAR update. Let’s take a look at what’s new.
The Greatest Show on Earth
NASCAR Racing is the most spectacular motorsport on the planet thanks to its combination of nosebleed-inducing speed and the bum-and-run tactics of the sports seemingly fearless competitors. The jewel in NASCAR’s crown is the Daytona 500 event and that’s what we’re getting in this update in Real Racing 3. Daytona 500 in the form we see here provides an opportunity to win a range of iconic NASCAR stock cars including the Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet SS, a Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry.
A New Venue
With this latest update you get to drive around a whole new racecourse and in this instance it’s an accurate reproduction of the prestigious Daytona International Speedway. The track has a long history of delivering spectacular racing experiences (it was first opened in 1959) thanks to its long straights and steep banked corners that enable racers to hurtle around the oval at over 200 mph.
There’s a bunch of new and returning events to play in Real Racing 3. The Sixth Element is a brand new ten-stage challenge that gives successful racers the opportunity to win in-game currency (Over R$70,000 and 36 Gold coins) and a beautiful Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
It’s Full of Stars
As you attempt to drive your NASCAR team to victory you will get to race alongside some of the biggest names in NASCAR including Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth.
A Whole Lot of Game
If you’re completely new to Real Racing 3 you’re probably unaware of just how comprehensive a racing experience it is. With the addition of the new NASCAR vehicles there are now in excess of 140 cars in the game all fully licenced and ready for you to play around with (well, once you’ve unlocked them). The finest sports cars from around the world are included from manufacturers like Chevy, Ferrari, McLaren, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Audi and many more.
There are 59 competitive series to take part in, each of which is broken down into numerous tiers, which in turn each contain one to three individual races. That’s a lot of racing and variety too, thanks to a total of 11 event types ranging from the straightforward Cup races, to rolling start NASCAR events, time trials, endurance events and elimination in which every 90 seconds the trailing car gets removed from the race. A particularly nice feature is the online multiplayer mode, which allows up to eight players to compete simultaneously.
Real Racing 3, including the new NASCAR update, is available now and as it follows the free-to-play business model you won’t need to spend a single dime, although avid racers can purchase in-game currency to speed their passage through their racing career.
The cars and courses look particularly spectacular on SHIELD devices thanks to NVIDIA’s powerful Tegra processing technology. Download Real Racing 3 for free now on NVIDIA SHIELD via Google Play.
