BARCELONA, Spain – Alcatel has introduced a new line-up of the One Touch Idol family in midrange market with two devices – Alcatel Idol 2 and Alcatel Idol 2 Mini.
The Alcatel Idol 2 is the successor to original Idol phone and is said to be shipped sometime in Q2. The phone will cost about 274 USD or 199 EUR for the 3G version and 342 USD of 274 EUR for the LTE variant.
For the price-tag this smartphone offers a 7.3 mm slim package running on Android 4.3, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor under a 5-inch touchscreen. The OS is upgradeable to KitKat 4.4. The phone sports two cameras, 8MP on rear and 1.5MP on front.
The Alcatel Idol 2 Mini has a 4.5-inch qHD display, and is powered on Android 4.3 that can be upgraded to 4.4 KitKat. It features a 1.2GHz processor, an 8MP camera at back and a 2MP camera on front. The device will be released this week and will come in two variants, a 3G and a LTE, costing about 232 USD or 169 EUR and 287 USD or 169 EUR, respectively.
