The latest program developers can benefit from is entitled "Google Cast and Android TV Development". It's a new online course that will teach you on how to use the Google Cast feature to your advantage. Casting allows users to stream apps from any mobile device and then right onto a compatible TV. Chromecast has been a success and Google Casting is certainly something that can still be used in many areas.
Google once again teamed up with Udacity to launch the course. Developers can expect to learn more about Google Cast and Android TV. This includes skills on how to extend an app to work with both the Android TV and Google Cast. According to Google, the course includes sample code, code snippets, and practical advice every developer can learn and benefit from. There is no need to rewrite an existing app, just a few tweaks in the code and your app is ready for casting.
You'll learn more about the Cast Companion Library that makes Android app casting easier and the Leanback library that will bring a cinematic UI to your app for its big screen launch. More samples and guides for Google Cast will also be provided.
The Google Cast and Android TV Development class is just one part of Google's series on Ubiquitous Computing that teaches how to optimize apps across platforms like Android Auto and Android Auto. You can take that larger program or choose to learn from this one online course.
