ASUS absolutely loves the ZenFone 2, so much in fact, that the technology company has decided to release three variants of the device throughout 2015. Yesterday at Computex, ASUS unveiled the second of said variants with the main difference being that the devices are powered by Qualcomm processors. There are three different models of this new ZenFone 2 variant, a 5-inch, 5.5-inch, and 6-inch model. Let’s take a moment to discuss what exactly all three of these new models have to offer.
First up, there are the 5 and 5.5-inch models of the new ZenFone 2. The two models are similar in many ways, both have a 720 x 1280p display and are powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor. With the 5-inch model though, users will have the option between 2 or 3GB of RAM, with the 5.5-inch model users will not have that option. If users select 2GB of RAM they will get 16GB of internal storage and if they select 3GB of RAM then they will get 32GB of internal storage. Both of the models will also possess a 13MP rear-facing camera and 5MP front-facing camera, but the 5.5-inch model will include laser auto-focus similar to the LG G3 and LG G4.
Next up there is the big brother of the group, the phablet-sized 6-inch ZenFone 2. It too will include a 720 x 1280p display and offer 2 or 3GB of RAM. Besides that the device will include a 3,000mAh battery and come with Android 5.0.2 pre-installed. The storage selection is the same for this device as it is for the 5-inch model, 16GB with 2GB of RAM and 32GB with 3GB of RAM. There was another model of the ZenFone 2, which was spotted in the wild at the show. This device is a 5.5-inch model that includes the Snapdragon 615, a great device for those not wanting a huge phone in order to take advantage of the powerful Snapdragon 615. Users who pick this device up will also have the option of either a 720p or 1080p display. As of right now, there is now word on when these devices will be released or what they will cost when they do.
