Subtitled Fire Emblem If… in Japan, the game tasks players with choosing a side between the warring Hoshido and Nohr kingdoms. Our hero, once again a customizable character, will have to pledge his loyalty to his country or his family’s bloodline. Which will you choose? Nintendo claims the Hoshido path is a more traditional Fire Emblem experience, but the Nohr will dig from the inside of a kingdom in a kind of civil war.
No subtitle has been set yet for the English localization, but I am a huge fan of If… Remember, Atlus tried that with Shin Megami Tensei, and that’s how the Persona series was born.
The announcement trailer is gorgeous, showing that Nintendo only looks to improve on the beauty of Fire Emblem: Awakening. I absolutely can’t wait! Fire Emblem will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016.
