The 2014 Moto X has created quite a buzz in the mobile industry already. Sprint customers however might have to consider other options if they want to get their hands on this new flagship. Motorola has officially confirmed via Twitter that Sprint will not carry the new Moto X. This basically means that your options are limited to Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile if you want to get the smartphone.
Although the company is yet to clarify as to why the handset will not be launched through America’s third largest carrier, it is believed that Sprint’s dependence on CDMA networks might have had an impact on Motorola’s decision. This essentially means that rolling out updates would be much slower than other network bands, so it seems like Motorola has taken this step out of concern regarding timely updates.
This isn’t a permanent answer though as Motorola and Sprint could work out the kinks over the coming weeks. But for the foreseeable future, the 2014 version of the Moto X will not land on the Sprint network. What do you make of this news?
