Sony has announced a new PlayStation 4 mode (CUH-1200) that consumes 8% less power when compared to its previous model, is 10% lighter, and offers some slight changes to its aesthetics.
The new PS4 model CUH-1200 will now feature a HDD cover that’s no longer glossy. Instead, the cover will have the same matte finish the rest of the console’s body shares. We imagine this change would make it slightly easier to slip the cover off when the inevitable time comes to upgrade the hard drive. The console will be available in either Jet Black or Glacier White.
The new PlayStation 4 will begin shipping at the end of June in Japan and is expected to make its way to the rest of the world some time later. This model features a 500GB and will retail for $399.
