Back in September 2016, Samsung launched the Galaxy Folder 2 flip phone with the model number SM-G1600. The availability of the device is only limited to China and South Korea. Today, a new flip phone is listed on TENAA with the model number SM-G9298. Apart from the images, there is no other information mentioned about this new device. Looking at the design, we expect this to be the successor to the last year’s Galaxy Folder 2. Unlike the W-series flip phones which sport dual displays and flagship specifications, the Folder devices limits to mid-range specifications.
This upcoming SM-9298 flip phone might be named as Galaxy Folder 3, and officially launch should happen in the next couple of months. While the Galaxy Folder 2 came with a textured finish back cover, the Galaxy Folder 3 with the metal body has a glossy back cover. It runs on the customized version of the in-house TouchWiz UI based on Android OS. The device also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity.
