A second Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 has recently been leaked providing those who have the guts to flash unofficial firmware into their devices another option to enjoy the goodness of the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. A couple of weeks ago, there was also a leakage of the alleged official copy of Jelly Bean for Galaxy S III and some developers have tested it.
Sam Mobile was the first to publish the leakage. They claim they gotten hold of the firmware but couldn’t share it with anyone as it was available as an OTA (over the air) update. The site was among the few ones that received updates much earlier in the past and as far as credibility is concerned, Sam Mobile is credible enough. Moreover, the guys who tested it said they applied the firmware to their own device and repackaged it so it could be applied to other devices irrespective whether they are carrier-dependent or not.
Dubbed as ODIN I9300XXDLH4, the firmware was a pre-release so basically, it was not official and caution should be taken when updating it on Galaxy S3. It is said to increase the binary counter and there should be some bugs. Also, it would surely void warranty. Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, don’t proceed.
