The Microsoft Store, Microsoft’s online and physical retail stores that sell Windows PCs and the Xbox One, is delivering another Surface Pro 3 deal that’ll have some potential buyers readying their wallets. For a limited time Microsoft has a bundle that’ll could save buyers a whopping $300 in services and accessories for the world’s most visible Windows 2-In-1 PC.
Those who take advantage of this new Surface Pro 3 deal get everything they need to be successful with Microsoft’s latest MacBook Air competitor. Instead of slashing the price of the Surface Pro 3 itself, Microsoft is letting anyone and everyone choose a version of the Surface Pro 3 that meets their needs and then slashing the price on specific accessories.
For example, after adding a Surface Pro 3 to their cart users purchase a Surface Pro Type Cover for $99.81 instead of $129.99. Microsoft is also throwing in a free Surface Pro 3 sleeve with every purchase, packing in additional savings of around $49.99. Adding a Microsoft Complete Protection plan on the Surface Pro means that users will get a free replacement if they ever have any issues. Normally, Microsoft offers the protection plan on its website for $149.99 in the case of the $999 Surface Pro 3 with an Intel Core i5 Processor, 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Shoppers can add a Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription to their purchase to for just $49.99, down from $69.99.
How good of a Surface Pro 3 deal users get completely depends on their needs. Microsoft isn’t limiting the savings to just a specific model, meaning users can even purchase Microsoft’s cheapest Surface Pro 3 and take advantage of the deep discount on accessories. For example, someone who purchased the Surface Pro 3 with Intel Core i3 processor, a Surface Pro Type Cover, a Surface Pro sleeve, Office 365 Personal and a Microsoft Complete Accident Protection Plan can get away with only investing $1,068.
This Surface Pro 3 deal does give users the option to choose a cheaper or more expensive alternative to include in their bundle. For example, Microsoft Office 365 Home is something that users can add for access to Microsoft’s suite of productivity apps on five PCs and Macs instead of just one. Microsoft says users can save up to $309 through this Surface Pro 3 deal, but that’s only if they purchase the more Surface Pro 3 with 256GB of storage and an Intel Core i5 Processor. That model normally costs, $1299, but is on sale for $1149 for a limited time.
Though Microsoft isn’t offering a huge discount on the Surface Pro 3 itself, there is a decent amount of savings to be had for those who were already planning on purchasing the device, or were considering it.
Revealed last summer, the Surface Pro 3 is the closest Microsoft has come to success in the hardware PC space. Previous generations of the Surface Pro were odd-shaped, thick and a pain to use outside of very specific scenarios. The Surface Pro 3 is the most versatile Windows PC 2-in-1 available.
A 12-inch high-definition touch screen display and single front-facing hardware button give the Surface pro 3 the look of a tablet, but inside the Surface Pro 3 uses Intel Processors that allow it to run both touch-friendly apps from the Windows Store and more complicated, mission critical apps like Photoshop and a full version of Microsoft Outlook. There’s a single USB port for connecting with printers, controllers and extras. A MiniDisplay port lets users output video to a television or projector. Those who need something more akin to a notebook can purchase the completely optional Surface Pro Type Cover. That cover and the adjustable kickstand built into the device make it easy get work done anywhere.
