Brush of Truth, a recommended book app for reluctant readers 8-12, is cutting its price to $0.99 on July 27 for back-to-school shoppers. The 50 percent discount will be available in the iTunes store for the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone, and on the Android/Google Play marketplace. Brush of Truth was released by Story Bayou.
The app has been named a "Recommended iPad Book App for Older and Reluctant Readers Ages 8-12" by Digital Storytime, and one of "6 Interactive Book Apps to Get Kids Excited About Reading" by Tecca. The iGameMom calls Brush of Truth "an effective tool in engaging reluctant readers." Brush of Truth, geared to third- through sixth-graders, is the first book app created by Story Bayou, a mom's vision to get tweens to read.
"Parents looking to ease their kids back into an academic mindset, and teachers interested in educational technology for the classroom, can do it in an inexpensive way with a book app,'" said Julie Landry Laviolette, author of Brush of Truth. "A book app is an engaging way to get kids to read because it is a hybrid of an eBook and a game. It combines a full-text reading experience with the interactive nature of a game."
