This news may break some hearts: European VP of LG, Kim Wong, has gone on the record with AllAboutPhones as saying that LG does not need another “marketing success” due to the Nexus 4′s success. This would immediately imply that the Nexus 5 will not be made by LG. This throws an almighty wrench in the works as many had already suggested LG would be making the Nexus 5 and was alluded to in a report by the Korea Times just earlier this month.
Wong also goes on to say while the Google-LG relationship is intact, LG is likely to move away from stock Android and instead promote its own user experience. Well, there you go: who are you going to believe? I’m not quite sure how I feel about this because for so long I’d assumed LG would be making Nexus 5, which until today, was rumoured to come along in November. Maybe there is truth in the lining and Google is just helping LG with their next phone, but whatever the truth is, this news has made everything regarding the Nexus 5 a little more uncertain.
What do you believe? Do you think LG is still making the Nexus 5? Theorize your conspiracy in the comments.
