We all know that the Nexus 5 will be releasing soon and the possibility of the new smartphone launching this month, but no release dates, specs or pricing have been revealed at the moment and this brings up a few speculations. Some of them coming in are reasonable, and others are just foolish.
There is a slim chance that the Nexus 5 will release at the end of October, Phones Review decided to go to the cupboard and put the thinking cap on. The new Nexus 7 2013 was released not so long ago and they stuck with the same name, but we want to question the name of the Nexus 5.
Foolish Thinking Number One
It brings us to ask what will the new Nexus be called, they could just release it as the Nexus 5 as that is simple, but is there any possibility at all the smartphone could be called the Nexus 4 2013, New Nexus 4? Phones Review says: STOP thinking about this, it will be called the Nexus 5, the only reason they kept the same Nexus 7 name is because they kept the same screen size of 7-inches and we know that the new Nexus smartphone will have a slightly larger display.
Foolish Thinking Number Two
Oh dear Tech Radar what are you thinking, this source reports that the next Nexus smartphone release will be at the end of October and we can not count this out. But, this is where it all goes wrong; Tech Radar says a ‘source familiar with Google’ told them a few things about the new Nexus device. We are familiar with Google, we know Google Search, G+, and hundreds of other things to do with Google, and so what do you mean ‘familiar with Google’? One comment on Tech Radar made us laugh, this is what it said “A source familiar with Google? What does that mean? They’ve heard of Google, they know where the coffee machine is, or they golf with Larry Page?”
Foolish Thinking Number Three
So, the Nexus 5 call it what you may will match the same specs as the iPhone 5S but at half the price around $473, so does this mean the Nexus 5 will have ID Touch Fingerprint technology. Do you really think the Nexus 4 upgrade will have the same 64-bit processor as the iPhone 5S? We think not, some have even said the new handset will have 4GB RAM, and we believe this will not go above 3GB at most.
The Nexus 4 has a 4.7-inch display so was aptly named, the Nexus 5 will come with a 5-inch plus display so will be called just that and not Nexus 4 2013, New Nexus 4 or even Nexus 4 3 – Lets stick to the obvious with plain and simple Nexus 5 shall we!
Suggested Nexus 5 Specs
5-inch Full HD display, Android 4.4 KitKat and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor all seems reasonable. We reported not so long ago about a new Nexus 5 log files and this was very interesting, it showed that the Nexus 5 will have the suggested specs above as well as Adreno 330 graphics and Bluetooth 4.0.
There will be various app updates as well that differs from the current versions, we will show you the numbers – the ones on the left is the number on the Google Play Store and the one on the right is supposedly on the Nexus 5: Google Search Sound 1.1.8 – 1.1.11, Email 4.1 – 6.0, Currents 2.1.1 – 2.1.2, Google Authenticator 2:49 to 3:55, Gmail 4.6 – 4.6.1, Play Books 2.9.21 (varies by device) – 3.0.1, Watch 2.0.3 – 3.0.0, Gallery 1.1.40012 – 1.1.40030, as well as Cloud Print 0.6.1b – 0.8.3, QuickOffice 6.1.180 – 6.2.255, Hangouts 1.2.018 – 1.3.012 and Play Store 4.3.11 – 4.4.2.
The name of the next smartphone would obviously be the Nexus 5, it will not come baring the same specs as the iPhone 5S, to think for one minute it will come with 4GB RAM is pushing the rumor boat out a little too far and we are still stuck at source familiar with Google, what do they mean. One question no one knows – Will LG be named for the Nexus 5? – Now give us your conclusion on the Nexus 5
