A number of Nexus 6 owners have reported a data connection issue which stops them from connecting to the internet, even when the signal bar is full. The device will show a “!” symbol on top of the signal bar, whether using 3G or LTE, and despite being investigated, a solution remains elusive.
Users are reporting the problem on XDA Developers and Reddit both in the US and UK. According to Android Police, the issue has been affecting T-Mobile and Sprint customers mostly, but it is not limited to those carriers (it’s also apparent on devices running Android 5.0 and 5.1). Restarting the device offers a quick-fix, but the problem returns soon after.
The cause of the issue is currently unknown, but it has been raised over on the Google Product Forums, and is now being investigated.
