A scientific paper has been published which features the Nokia Lumia 1020. John P Graff and Mark Li-cheng Wu used the Nokia Lumia 1020 as a 41MP photomicroscope.
They picked the 1020 due to the huge megapixel count as well as having optical image stabilisation. This kind of set up means high quality but having the advantage of being mobile.
For the first time, we’ve legitimately shown that you can replace the traditional scope with a Lumia 1020. We have to carry out some more tests but we’ve got a whole bunch of stuff going on that we think will go very far in showing what the Lumia is really capable of.
