Right on schedule, the Nokia Lumia 625 is now up for grabs in the UK. To get a SIM-free and unlocked unit, you’ll need to pay £239.99 or £252, depending on your choice of retailer.
Expansys is offering Nokia’s biggest Windows Phone yet for £239.99, while Clove is asking for £252 for the same device. The Lumia 625 isn’t high-end despite its 4.7-inch screen, rather it’s a midranger aimed at those who love big phones (and felt left out from the Windows Phone world).
Also in Windows Phone news from the UK, the Samsung Ativ S has received yet another price cut. Back in May we told you that the Korean company’s one and only Windows Phone 8 handset was selling for just £244.99, but even that was too much apparently.
That’s because right now Expansys is offering the Ativ S for the insane price of £199.99, SIM-free and unlocked. There are no units in stock, but that situation is expected to change in four days. So you can place your order anyway, keeping in mind what a great deal this is.
The Ativ S is much higher-end than the Lumia 625, yet it’s cheaper. The only downside to the Ativ S could be its lack of LTE support, but otherwise it bests the Nokia in every spec category. So you know what the better deal is. It turns out that there are advantages coming out of Samsung’s lack of interest regarding Windows Phone.
