GLOBAL – So, you’ve purchased the new Nokia Lumia 800, followed our five startup tips and played around with the Live Tiles on the homescreen. Now what? Load it up with some games, that’s what. We’ve handpicked our five favourite Nokia Lumia 800 games.
Pull on your driving gloves, stick on your shades and buckle your seat belt for some full-throttle, high-octane action. In 24 undercover missions and eight challenging modes you take control of 20 of the world’s hottest high-performance cars in order to be the number one driver. Sign in using your Xbox LIVE Gamertag to earn achievements and access leaderboards and win up to 200 Gamerscore points.
In Plants vs. Zombies, your home is under attack from the brain-eating, flesh-peeling undead. Your task is to defend your home with the only tools at your disposal, plants. But they’re no ordinary plants. Scatter your lawn with pea-shooting flowers, cherry bombs, sunflowers and 46 other powerful perennials in an attempt to stop the evil dead from reaching the door. Kill them all, and you’re safe for another day. Lose, and it’s game over.
The aim of this classic game is to swap and line up a bevy of gems. Match three or more of the same gem and they’ll vanish from your screen, sometimes leaving behind super-gems and giving you points for your troubles. Level upon level of time absorbing fun sees you racking up extra Gamerscore points and up to 20 new achievements for your Xbox LIVE account.
How high can you fly? Or rather, jump? Another old favourite, Doodle Jump is a game of precise jumping tactics. Starting from the ground the aim is to jump onwards and upwards onto the platforms in the sky. Not all platforms are useful, though. Land on a broken one, and you’ll fall. Some are extra special. Equipped with springs, propeller hats or jet packs you’ll be reaching new heights in no time.
Everybody loves fluffy animals, don’t they? Kinectimals brings little cuddly cubs to your Nokia Lumia phone. You must care for and play with the young cats in a fantasy land, all with amazing visuals. If you’ve already got Kinectimals on the Xbox 360, your phone – with this game – will allow you to unlock five new cubs for your console.
As with most paid-for games from the Marketplace, you can give these games a good trial before you buy. You’ll always know if they’re worth buying before spending your money.
