Like many third-party apps, Barnes and Noble’s Nook app for iOS devices was also updated and enhanced for the new iPad’s Retina display. This means that when reading ebooks, words and images will now load sharper than before. Aside from this, the updated app also now makes it easier to use the Highlight feature for NOOK books. This means that you can now highlight all the words you want easily. This new feature is good for both iPad and iPhone versions of the app. Specific to the iPad version is the ability to read in 1 or 2 columns when reading in landscape orientation. And of course, the update also includes the usual round of bug fixes. The Nook mobile app requires iOS 4.3 and supports the new iPad, iPad 2, and iPad 2 as well as the iPhone 4S/4/3GS and 3rd gen iPod Touch. It’s available now as a free download from the iTunes App Store.
