Last week, Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt confirmed the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Android would land sometime in the region of October/November. Today comes the news that Notion Ink are planning an update to their Android tablet in November, right after the launch of the platform in late October.
In a news release sent out over the weekend, Rohan Shravan, Notion Ink’s CEO, states, “Official (“update button”) Ice Cream Sandwich update in November after Google’s launch in late Oct.” Shavran also added, “If you go by the industry signals, OMAP [chipset] is the preferred platform for the next wave of devices.”
All of this has been confirmed or at least heavily speculated towards in other blogs, but this is the first time a manufacturer has come out and openly stated what they know about the new Android OS.
Will Notion Ink be proved right? We suppose there’s only a month left to find out.
