Samsung’s upcoming Android 7.0 update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will include the company new Grace user interface and an improved Always On Display feature, according to a new report. Both are currently only found on the new Galaxy Note 7.
Samsung is already hard at work on Nougat for the Galaxy S7 series. According to SamMobile, the South Korean company started testing the release internally at its European headquarters in Poland earlier this week ahead of its public debut.
Now the site reports that one of the new features coming with that update is Samsung’s latest Grace user interface, which made its debut on the Galaxy Note 7 back in August. It features cleaner visuals, features like a blue light filter, and revamped icons.
“The new UI seems to be performing smoother than the current software on these devices,” adds the report, which also claims Nougat will bring an improved Always On Display feature to the Galaxy S7 series.
Always On Display made its debut on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge earlier this year, but on those devices, it hasn’t changed much. Users can only see notifications from Samsung’s own apps, while the Note 7’s version also supports third-party titles.
