The likes of Sister Act, Nuns on the Run, and The Sound of Music aside, the wimple-wearing monochrome preacher penguins of the Catholic Church rarely see that much action, but with a new evil on the loose all that is about to change in an attacking action epic that’s second to nun…
It had to happen eventually – all those years of repression in a nunnery were bound to build up, and for Sister Mortana all that praying proved too much. So succumbing to the ‘dark side’, the newly named ‘Fallen Nun’ unleashes Hell on Earth through a series of portals to the demonic domain; and only a quartet of nuns with guns can save us.
Using a blend of tactics and triggers, you must command the somewhat unlikely fearless faith-following foursome of Eva, Rosy, Mandy and Olga as they dodge the demons and put an end to the portals in over 40 challenging missions. With guns galore available to buy using gold earned in-game or in-app purchase, the righteously religious action is relentless.
The glorious gameplay comes backed up by some cool cartoon-style graphics and dialogue that is, let’s say, about as tongue-in-cheek as it’ll ever get with members of the celibacy savouring Sisterhood. But, of course, the big question here is: is this sacrilege? We asked the Pope, but as we speak neither Latin or German weren’t entirely sure what his response was. However, it sounded a bit like: “It’s okay… as long as you don’t get into the habit…” Bless him!
THE BOTTOM LINE
Offering good, clean, cartoony fun with gun-toting, evil fighting nuns, Nun Attack is definitely one of the sillier slayer apps out there, and as such offers absolute hours of action and an epiphany of app entertainment.
