Strike Suit Zero takes us back to an earlier age of gaming, when sci-fi space combat was all the rage. In it, you pilot a Strike Suit, a fighter craft that transforms into a giant suit of armor. Jump into epic fleet battles, put your dogfighting skills to the test, and save Earth from certain destruction and determine the fate of the galaxy. Explore a vast galaxy and upgrade different Strike Suits with different weapon loadouts so you can fight your way.
The year is 2299, and mankind has spread out into the galaxy to colonize the stars. However, Earth is locked in a long-standing war against rebel factions that want colonial independence from the homeworld. All the while uncovering the secret hidden at the depths of space.
Spanning 17 missions and 13 unique locations, players can select between six different fighter craft, including six Strike Suits. Each have unique attributes for speed, maneuverability, and weapon loadouts. The game comes to live when you pilot a Strike Suit, which transforms from Pursuit Mode for speed to Strike Mode for high maneuverability combat. You'll encounter multiple enemies at once, and you'll need to push your reflexes and skills to the limit to take them down. There are also massive Capital Ships that must be taken apart one piece at a time. Target individual turrets, or aim for their weak points to destroy entire sections of the ship at once. How you're going to destroy the giant ship is up to you. But be sure to keep an eye on your shield, armor and missile ammunition levels. Also be on alert for incoming missiles, or you could be toast.
The game was originally released for the PC and has now made its way onto Nvidia Shield devices. Developed exclusively for Tegra, you can experience the epic action-filled adventure with high quality graphics. Featuring ship designs by renowned Mechanical Design engineer Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) and a wonderfully haunting soundtrack, Strike Suit Zero brings the majesty of space and the excitement of combat to a whole new level. Certain elements are adjusted to make use of virtual controls, which are great for players that like to have everything like throttle and pitch, laid out in front of them. Changing targets, firing missiles, and shooting the main cannons are as simple as tapping a few icons.
You can get a bigger experience by using a Shield Controller to move your craft around if you're using a Shield Tablet. Using a controller removes the virtual controls from the screen so that you can better appreciate the graphics. Upgrade to the full console experience by hooking your Shield device up to an HDTV.
Strike Suit Zero is also available for streaming from Nvidia Grid, so you can play the PC version for free, and compare it to the Android experience. Or choose the Android version if you prefer to take your gaming on the go, and the PC streaming version if you're more likely to game from somewhere with a strong WiFi signal. Either way, you're in for a gorgeous fast-action experience.
