A small update is rolling out to NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV consoles for update to version 2.1. This update to NVIDIA’s powerful Android TV media and gaming console has compatibility for new media and gaming apps, as well as fixing a color issue that seemingly arrived with update 2.0.
We talked about the big update to version 2.0 a while back. After the update, there were some complaints that levels of black were too heavy after the major update, which resulted to dark pictures on the monitor especially when using HDMI output. NVIDIA has said that the 2.1 update should fix that issue, and from early customer feedback, it seems that the issue is indeed fixed.
Also, there is compatibility for new media apps such as “Showtime”, which gives you digital access to current and past episodes of TV shows and series. The new “Disney Movies Everywhere” app gives you access to Disney, Pixar, and even Marvel and Star Wars movies on the app. As for games, you can try a puzzle game called “Contrast” and an arcade game called “Pix the Cat”.
