The official Nexus 5 bumper case has now received a small update according to a new revelation. These cases while very pretty on the eye, suffered from a problem which didn’t allow users to press the volume or power buttons at the right angle. The alignment of the buttons appeared to be the problem and Google has now fixed this by offering slightly thicker buttons.
As you can see from the image above (courtesy of Droid-Life), the grey bumper is the new one with the thicker button while the yellow case is the older skinnier version with slightly misplaced buttons. Google hasn’t made a formal announcement about these changes, but the fact that it has revamped the design comes as an acknowledgment of the issue. At $35each, these cases aren’t very cheap. So it will be interesting to see if Google will offer some sort of a replacement plan for early customers of the case. Either way, it’s very commendable that Google has decided to make these changes without making a big deal about it.
Head over to the source link below if you’re looking to get the new case for yourself. However, it is being reported that yellow cases are still shipping with the old button layout while the red, grey and black bumpers are coming with the changed buttons, so make sure you keep that in mind if you’re getting one.
