If you are like me and you have never meditated before and are very interested in what it has to offer, know that you can find out about meditation and how to bring mindfulness into your life with simple taps and swipes.
OMG. I Can Meditate! is an app that offers a myriad of meditative exercises from super novice to expert level. They have all been designed by Life Coach, Lynne Goldberg. Download to start a few sessions for free, and then if you really like it, you can sign up for subscriptions. Right now, if you download, the app creators are offering a 2-year subscription at a deep discount.
However, lets move on to the app itself. After downloading it, you will see a screen that will immediately put you into a tranquil state. Its from here where you play and pause the meditation exercises.
To see the options available to you, tap on the menu icon, which is found on the top left corner of the main screen. Here you will find an assortment of meditation categories. They range from single meditations to programs that allow you to meditate first thing in the morning or ones that lull you to sleep with calming music at night.
Each meditation sequence uses clear language that all can understand. It does not use any confusing yogic or spiritual language that most would not be able to follow, which makes this the perfect app, especially if you just starting out.
Another great feature is that each category offers so many different sessions, that you will never get bored. You can listen to the same one every day, if thats your fancy, or you can let the app surprise you with a random 10-minute exercise.
From the menu screen you can choose from different types categories, so you can customize the meditation to your current state of mind, and the state you want to get to. Choose from OMG Daily Meditation, Specialty Meditations, OMGood Morning, OMGGood Night, Kids & Family, and more.
Within these categories there are several options to select from based on the category type. Some meditations can be timed, some can be set up to start up at certain times like an alarm, and some can be chosen to fit certain age groups. All you have to do is figure out which one is going to work for you. You just have to make the time and start one up.
The only improvement that would help make the app a bit better is having some help right from the main screen. Currently, when the app pops up, you see the screen that allows you play the meditation exercise. To see the help, you have to go to the menu screen for that.
This app is a must download if you are looking for an easy way to learn about mindfulness and bring meditation into your life, or your familys life, then OMG. I Can Meditate is the way to go!
