But Waze recently introduced a new feature that’ll blow you away and seriously tempt you into switching for good. It’s called Planned Drives and it’s a game changer. It’s available on both iOS and Android.
Here’s how it works: you tell Waze what your destination is and when you need to arrive there. Waze then takes many factors into consideration — distance, traffic patterns, accidents, etc. — and tells you when you need to leave in order to get there on time.
Waze is also smart enough to adjust its estimate based on real-time changes in traffic conditions, in which case it will notify you of said adjustments.
And if you grant it permission, Waze can integrate with your calendar events and Facebook events to automatically create Planned Drives on your behalf.
Will this feature eventually come to Google Maps? Probably, but nobody knows when. For now, it’s a killer advantage that could temporarily crown Waze as navigation king.
What do you think of this feature? Is it as exciting as it sounds or is it something you’d never actually use in practice? Let us know with a comment below!
