According to OnePlus, the company will bring out a new version of the Oxygen OS ROM, based on Android 5.1 later this year. This ROM will reportedly break cover with the OnePlus 2 flagship which means that users of the OnePlus One will also have to wait until then.
The company has also mentioned that they will start rolling out bug fixes for the nagging touchscreen issues on the OnePlus One, which is excellent news for the customers of the handset. The issue is observed on the CyanogenMod version of the OnePlus One as well as the Oxygen OS version, so it’s probably a hardware related issue.
The manufacturer has promised to streamline the rollout of software updates for its smartphone going forward. It must be noted that the OnePlus 2 will also be available in a CyanogenMod variant and the Oxygen OS model will be optional for the customers. We expect the handset to be revealed sometime later this year as the OnePlus One is still heavily in demand.
