Thanks to the various leaks, we already came to know about the complete specifications and the Indian pricing of the device even before the launch. For the OnePlus 3, the company came up with a new design language that looks similar to the HTC 10. Unlike the earlier OnePlus devices, the metal unibody of the latest flagship is built out of Aluminum alloy. The Alert Slider, which is used to quickly change the notification settings, is also present on this device; it was first introduced with OnePlus 2.
It sports a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is protected from scratches and drops by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 laid on top. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It also has 64GB of internal storage but misses the MicroSD slot for storage expansion.
The Physical home button on the front houses the improved fingerprint sensor that can unlock in just 0.2 seconds. It runs on latest Android 6.1 Marshmallow based in-house OxygenOS. Talking about the camera, it has a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor on the rear with PDAF, OIS, and aperture of f/2.0. It can record videos at 4K resolution at 30fps and HD slow motion at 120fps. On the front is an 8MP sensor with just 1.4um pixel size and f/2.0 aperture which can record videos at Full HD resolution. The bottom facing speakers of the OnePlus 3 offers HiFi sound with the Dirac technology.
It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and supports OnePlus’s own fast charging technology called Dash Charge which includes 5V/2A adapter. With this new Dash Charge technology, the device can be charged from 0% to 60% in just 30 minutes and the optimized power adapter also controls the device from overheating. OnePlus 3 also includes dual SIM slots and offers Cat.6 4G LTE. The company has brought back the NFC for enabling the mobile payments; it was missing on OnePlus 2. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB 2.0 Type-C port. It measures 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35 mm and weighs 158 grams.
