Recently OPPO has sent us the media invite for the launch of a new smartphone in New Delhi on April 5th. As seen with the teased images on Twitter, we expected the company to bring the OPPO R9 & OPPO R9 Plus that are recently launched in China. Now we came to know that the company will be launching the OPPO R9 as OPPO F1 Plus in India.
While launching the OPPO F1 in January in India, the company also announced the OPPO F1 Plus to be launched in the month of April. The device is mentioned to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. It is also said to be priced at Rs. 26,990 which make it cheaper than in China 2799 Yuan (approx $430 / Rs. 28,750).
Talking about the device, it comes with very narrow side bezels that measure just 1.66mm. The device looks premium with its metal build unibody design and will be available only in Gold and Rose Gold colors. Under the hood, the F1 Plus might be powered by Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with Mali-T860 GPU.
It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto another 128GB. In the camera department, the F1 Plus comes with a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF that can record videos in 4K resolution. On the front is a whopping 13MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and the screen flash helps in capturing selfies even in low light conditions.
The OPPO R9 came with the latest ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and we expect the OPPO F1 Plus to run on the same OS. It is backed by a 2,850mAh non-removable battery that comes with patented VOOC flash charging technology. The device supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot where you can use the MicroSD card instead of second SIM.
The physical home button placed below the display also houses the fingerprint sensor. According to the company, the fingerprint sensor on the display can unlock in just 0.2 seconds. It measures just 6.6mm thickness and weighs 145 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
Since the official launch event is less than a week away, stay tuned for the official confirmation of the specifications and the availability of the OPPO F1 Plus.
