NEW DELHI, India – Oppo announced R1 back in December 2013, now Oppo R1 is available in India for a price tag of about Rs. 26,990.
The phone was showcased at the Mobile World Congress held earlier this year. For the aforementioned cost, users would get a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582-powered chipset under a 5-inch HD IPS display.
The handset supports dual (micro)-SIM functionality. It runs on Android 4.2 with Color OS. The main camera is an 8MP unit with LED flash, BSI sensor, and f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is a 5MP sensor with 80 degree wide-angle lens. The Oppo R1 supports 3G network, and allows connectivity through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. As for storage and memory, the device has 16GB on board and 1GB of RAM, respectively.
The phone features Dirac HD audio technology with customized acoustic optimization for headphones and a second-gen Smart PA amplifier.
Talking about the appearance, the Oppo R1 is similar to the Oppo N1, which was released a few months ago for Rs. 39,999, and boasts a more powerful chipset, battery, and larger screen and camera.
